Facebook is a very popular social networking website and many people are sharing their lives online with this service. Although Facebook may be thought of as largely a time waster and a way to unwind and relax, it also has a few tools that could help you with your productivity. I have just been investigating a few to-do list applications on Facebook and share my findings with you here.
The Pros and Cons of Facebook To-Do List Applications
Facebook to-do list applications are a great way of letting friends know what you are up to, or keep it private as a form of online to-do list. The advantage is that it is linked with a website that you are probably already visiting anyway, but the disadvantage is that since Facebook can easily become addictive, you could spend more time enjoying the other features of Facebook and not really working on getting your to-do list done. Personally, I think Facebook to-do lists can be used to share your list with others or as an additional list but that the best to-do lists should either be to-do list software that sits on your computer or else pen and paper to-do lists for those who are not working with a computer constantly.
To Do List
This To Do List application is developed by Nick Wilder and Zachary Allia. The advantage of it is that you can choose to either have specific items as public or private, public items will appear on your profile, whereas private ones will not. Apart from adding items to do, you also have a few other options such as adding a friend to the to-do list item, or coloring the item.
To-Do List
This application developed by Theresa Breen and Jason Hanley is really very similar to the one above by Nick and Zachary in that it also allows you to mark items as public or private but it does not have the ability to add friends to the to-do item or to color it. They are planning on bringing out some new features soon however such as sorting by date or priority, and reminders and notifications.
Wonderlist
Wonderlist is another to-do list application on Facebook but despite the name is rather a simplified one that allows you to keep track of to-do list items and has a motivational quote at the top of the page but other than this does not present many other features.
Although Facebook to-do lists may not be the greatest to-do lists for actually getting things done, if you would like to share your list with friends, or want an online to-do list at a website you already visit then this could help. There are a number of different to-do lists on Facebook each including their own features and benefits. If you are looking for a minimalist to-do list then Wonderlist is probably the one you should choose, To Do List and To-Do List applications have more features, but both are different and so you can decide which features appeal to you the most.
